SALT LAKE CITY (Apr. 18, 2018) – President Donald Trump has issued a directive to lower flags to half-staff from now until Saturday, April 21, 2018 to honor the life and service of Barbara Pierce Bush. In coordination with this proclamation, Gov. Gary R. Herbert has requested all flags at state facilities and public grounds to be lowered to half-staff for the same time period. Individuals and businesses are encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff for the same length of time as well.

Weber County- During the Utah Legislative session, HB 281 was passed and signed this month by Gov. Herbert. That means, beginning this year, any Utah resident who will be 18 on or before Election Day, November 6th, will be eligible to vote in the June Primary Election. This means that students, under Utah law, ages 16 & 17-years old, can PREREGISTER to vote and that all eligible 17-year olds will automatically receive their Primary ballot in the mail.
